Award ceremony info

The youth art was judged on Monday night, by nine of our adult members. It took them from 7:15 to after 11:00 pm to judge things.

WHO GOT WHAT AWARD: We're not going to tell anyone, until the ceremony happens. There were three or four honourable mentions, the rest of the 45 entrants all got either bronze, silver, or gold medallions.

WHEN IS THE CEREMONY?: The award ceremonies are next Saturday--that's December 16.

• Doors will open around 10:45 am
• Award ceremonies will start at 11:00 am
• We hope to actually start handing out the awards by 11:15 am
• By noon we should be done handing out the awards, at this point it's the pizza party.

IS THERE A CLASS THAT WEEK?: There are no classes that week, so don't bother showing up at 9:30 am, 1:00 pm, or 3:15 pm for the regular classes. Every year at two or three people do, so don't.

WHAT'S TO EAT?: Pizza, mainly. We'll have other stuff too, snacks.

CAN I HELP?: If you want to bring food to the party, any sort of finger food, feel free to do so.

Member Mary Chorniuk was one of the artists participating at the Whodunit? OCAS Mystery Art Sale. As their website says "It’s an exhibition and sale of pieces of original art by well-known and celebrity artists, faculty, alumni and students."

Gaining in popularity year after year, the Whodunit? OCAD Mystery Art Sale offers hundreds of original works donated by Canadian artists and creative celebrities. Every piece measures 5½ x 7½ inches and each piece is $75. The mystery -- who created the art -- is solved only after the piece is bought and turned over to reveal the artist's name on the back.

Margaret Atwood, Bruce Cockburn, Tony Urquhart, Mary Pratt and Christopher Pratt were all celebrity contributors to the show.

Brampton Bulletin is dead

Despite the fact the website is still up, the Brampton Bulletin seems to be as good as dead. Their answering machine has been full for weeks, we've had no response to emails, and writers for the site haven't heard anything. If anyone has any news on what exactly killed the Bulletin, Nick would like to know for history's sake.
