VAB at the CNE: art on display at garden section

On Friday, we got the great news: Visual Arts Brampton's 24th anniversary floral art show will be on display at the Canadian National Exhibition. To be displayed as part of the CNE's Garden Show, in the Heritage Court of the Direct Energy Centre, the plan is to have most if not all of the entered works on display, for the entire duration of the iconic event.

We pitched the idea back in May, and the CNE's Garden and Agriculture Co-ordinator, and she actually came out to the City Hall atrium to look at our show this June. She thought the works were great, and the wheels went in motion from there.

Needless to say, we're extremely appreciative to the CNE for their generosity and interest in our show, and we're completely thrilled that we'll be part of the 132nd year of one of Canada's key annual events.

Floral Images of Flower City scheduled

We've just confirmed that "Floral Images of Flower City", our annual show at Brampton City Hall's Art in the Atrium gallery space, is back on for 2009.

The show will run Tuesday, June 3 until Monday, June 30, during regular city business hours. (Set up for the show will be at 4:30 pm June 2.)

The show, which has gone under a few different titles, was first launched in the spring of 2002. Ever since Brampton's Sesquicentennial anniversary (150 years), we've had the exhibit in June, simultaneous to the Brampton Horticultural Society's flower show, the Flower City Parade, and until it ceased operation, the Brampton Folk Festival.
