VAB hosting 8-week drawing workshop

Artist Keith Moreau will be teaching an eight-week workshop at the Visual Arts Brampton Creative Studio in March.

Moreau, an experienced illustrator and art instructor, will be teaching Drawing in Colour and Black & White on Thursdays from March 1 to April 19 from 7 to 9 p.m.

In the first two weeks, students will participate in simple exercises to understand perspective. Following weeks will feature still life drawing, then portraits. Two weeks are then devoted to the unique white-line drawing medium of scratchboard, and then two weeks of coloured pencil.

This workshop costs $40, including some supplies and tools for in-studio use.

The VAB Creative Studio is located in the lower level of the Bartley Square Mall, at the corner of Hurontario Street and Steeles Avenue. For information or to register, call 905-453-9142.

Students show off works of art at VAB's Fridge Front Gallery

Fridge Front Gallery in Shoppers World usually shows the works of Visual Arts Brampton's younger students. For the next few months, it will also feature creativity from three Brampton schools.

Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary School will start the series of exhibits, with a display from March 5 to 20. Sunny View Middle School art will be shown April 2 to 13, while McCrimmon Middle School pieces will be on display from April 13 to 27.

Brampton residents will also be able to view select works online by visiting visualartsbrampton.com.

Sunny View Middle School is now booked to display at the Visual Arts Brampton Fridge Front Gallery in Shoppers World, from April 2nd through 13th.

The exhibit while feature Teri Petrillo's Grade 6 Art/Language Arts classes, who are currently working on Value and One Point Perspective.

• Week Seven & Eight: Keith will help you master coloured pencil, while drawing an image of your choice.

This workshop is just $40 for the eight weeks, including some supplies and tools for in-studio use.
