W.G. Davis art class on display at Fridge Front

Ms. Bailey teaches at William Grenville Davis Senior Public School, just up the road from the VAB studios. Her classes have exhibited in 2006 and 2007, and we're glad to welcome her back to Fridge Front again.

Acrylic for teens, with Emily Kowalik

Join Emily Kowalik from August 10 to 14 this summer, for five days of acrylic instruction. Open to teens from ages 12 to 18, this class will run 10 am to 2 pm.

Emily is the current co-instructor of Visual Arts Brampton's popular art classes for 6-to-8-year-olds. She has been teaching these classes for the last two years. Emily is currently a student at Mayfield School of the Arts, in her final year.

Landscapes, National Youth Week installed last night

Artist William H. Simmons hangs his work at Artway; show runs... on TwitpicLast night, the Landscapes exhibit was installed at Artway. Featured in the exhibit is long-time Visual Arts Brampton member Conrad Mieschke. Also on display are Luis Barrios, Marguerite Finlayson, Dolores Miron, William H. Simmons (pictured, hanging one of his works).

Also installed last night was the National Youth Week exhibit, presented in partnership with the City of Brampton Arts, Culture & Theatre department. Original and reproduced artwork was submitted to the Rose Theatre and Pearson Theatre by the public, and to the studio by our youth students. The result is a great, diversely-themed show in our Fridge Front Gallery space.
