Saturday is deadline for youth awards

This Saturday you must have your portfolio ready for the judges.

You need:

• 12 TV assignments: At least 2 must be portraits, 2 must be still life, and 2 must be animal. You may choose whatever TV assignments for the other six.
• 12 Home assignments: Any 12.
• Any other art that you want to show off to the judges. Try and get as much good stuff as you've got.

One of a Kind Show

One of this year's featured artisans at the One of a Kind Show in Toronto is our very own Maria Dlubak, and her daughter Anna. The two of them make pillows, and were chosen to represent the show in print, television, and online advertisements.

New to the One of a Kind Show, this talented mother and daughter creative team have a passion for art and design and use screen printing as their medium. Their fascination for creating nature inspired designs stems from travel in Poland, Germany, and South Africa as well as a family tradition of gardening. They collaborate to create the designs that are featured on pillows. They use
drawings as well as photographs as a basis for their artwork.

Still time to get into portfolio lessons

Are you a student who wants to attend a high school arts programme? Brush up your portfolio at Visual Arts Brampton.

After covering the basics of perspective in the first week, students will choose the order in which to complete school entry assignments, with Keith's one-on-one guidance. Attending to the students' individual needs, all students will leave with a greater sense of self-confidence, knowing they raised the quality of their portfolio, beyond their existing ability.

This is the second year Keith is holding the program. Keith heard back from most students, all of whom had been accepted.
