Scott Maxwell dies

A Visual Arts Brampton member for a few years, Scott Maxwell died Friday, after having brain cancer for 21 years.

Scott was one the VAB members in the Art of the Automobile show, sponsored by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada, that toured auto shows in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. It was his first ever juried show entry, in fact, his first entry into any show other than Artway.

He joined the group at least by 2004, entering a two original pen and ink illustrations into the Snail Mail Show; he entered other scratchboard, pencil, pen and ink drawings and wooden sculptures into our Artway Shoppers World shows. Users of our studio may remember his woodcarvings, one of which depicted an eagle, and hung in our main drawing and painting area for a few years. His last showing with VAB was the Wheels exhibit, for which he was briefly mentioned in the Guardian.

Death notice for Scott, in The Brampton Guaridan.
